I've spent many nights between May and December working on a velvet biscuit quilt - not for sale, but simply because I wanted a luxurious warm quilt for my bed.  There is art in the craft of quilting, but the time involved when the sections must be stuffed and sewn by hand makes it more like assembling an incredibly challenging jigsaw puzzle. I probably should have been painting pictures instead of sewing for most of 2009, but with art not selling and galleries closed, I am short on room to store more paintings.  I sure hope the economy recovers soon.  I've exhausted my urge to sew, and it's high time to pick up my paint brushes again.

There is a hopeful glimmer to start off 2011 - a new gallery called Art & Soul opened nearby a few months ago here in Myrtle Beach and my small woodcraft chickadee items are on display there along with some original oval chickadee paintings and some small chickadee prints.  I hope in time they will find room to display a few of my larger 'sofa mural' paintings.

Thanks so much for visiting my website.
